Day 1. Historic Sites and Royal London
Our first day in London takes us to the heart of British history with a visit to the Tower of London, a castle that has served many purposes over the centuries. We'll discover its vast history and explore its many features, including royal residences, crown jewels, and famous prisoners. From there, we'll take in the city's iconic sites, viewing London from above the Thames, learning about the historical importance of St. Paul's Cathedral, and visiting Westminster Abbey, the gothic church that has hosted many royal coronations and weddings. Our stroll through picturesque St. James's Park will lead us to the golden gates of Buckingham Palace, where we'll witness the changing of the guard. This day will leave you with a deeper understanding of London's historic, cultural, and monarchical identity.
Day 2. Iconic Foodie Delights
Our second day is all about indulging in the culinary delights of London. We'll start with a visit to Borough Market, where passionate food producers and cosmopolitan street food stalls offer a dazzling array of produce, from the finest meats and seafood to cheeses and sweet treats. Our guide will illuminate the market's fascinating history and introduce us to the traders. In the afternoon, we'll head to Fortnum & Mason, one of London's most iconic shops with a history stretching back over 300 years. We'll enjoy a 90-minute tour of the building with tastings, and learn about the fascinating tales behind the nation's favourite corner shop, ending in true Fortnum's style with traditional afternoon tea.
Day 3. Art and Design
Our final day will take us to South Kensington, one of London's most prestigious areas, where we'll begin with a walk around the neighbourhood, learning about the area's history, including famous residents and landmarks. We'll make our way to the Victoria and Albert Museum, founded in 1852 and showcasing the world's finest art and design from across the centuries. We'll explore the fashion and jewelry galleries, see reproductions of Michelangelo's David and Moses, and walk through everyday life exhibits from 1700 to 1900, including recreated rooms and furniture. This day will leave you with a deep appreciation for London's artistic and cultural contributions to the world.
Day 4. Departure.
